|Summary:||Papyrus fragment of a Christian amulet from the 10th century, housed in a glass panel measuring 128 x 90 mm. According to Browne (no. 2 in his 1979 study), this fragment contains the top part of the amulet with the beginning verses of the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. The missing part would have contained the openings of the Gospels of Luke and John. Note that an earlier inventory describes this item as a fragment of a private letter dating to the 5th-7th centuries A.D.
