William Clark, superintendent of Indian affairs, to all whom it may concern [manuscript] : under authority vested in me by the president of the United States to grant permission to citizens or other persons to pass into and through the Indian county, &c., permission is hereby granted to M. Baron Braunsberg to pass through the Indian country by the Missouri River to the Rocky Mountains for the purpose of making observations in zoology and botany ... and to take with him Charles [i.e. Karl] Bodmer and David Dreydopple [i.e. Dreidoppel] ... : passport, 1833 Apr. 2.
