520 |aIn this report, the government of the Dominican Republic discusses the laws, policies, and programs through which it seeks to implement the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The Covenant requires that all signatories make progress toward the full realization of the right to self-determination; the right to gender equality; labor rights (e.g., the right to a living wage); the right to social security; family rights (e.g., the right to paid parental leave); the rights to adequate food, water, and shelter; and the rights to health, education, and participation in cultural life.
